Area Events at and Around the Yakima Sundome and Yakima Speedway

Discover the fun in Yakima! With the thrill of annual races at the Yakima Speedway and Raceway, the classic family fun of the Central Washington State Fair to the sporting events internationally famed entertainers you can catch at the Yakima Sundome, you're sure to find some fantastic event perfect for your particular brand of a good time.

Yakima Speedway and Raceway Events

Get ready for the thunderous roar of race cars circling the Yakima Speedway and Raceway track at breakneck speeds. Racing competitions and major racing events happen all year long here. Some of the more famed events include Yakima Speedway's 25th Annual Fall Classic and the Third Annual Open Wheel Extravaganza.

Yakima Sundome Events

Wrestling matches. The Harlem Globetrotters. Internationally famed entertainers like Tricia Yearwood. This is the kind of excitement that happens at the Yakima Sundome. Be sure to check the site frequently to discover the events that best catch your interest.

Spring Barrel & Wine Tasting

This annual event held every April offers wine-lovers the chance for a closer look into the process and art of wine-making at the many fine wineries in the Yakima Valley Area. Tour Yakima Valley Wine Country, stock up on the newest and finest wines in the area, and enjoy the sampling of some wines that haven't left the barrel yet. The Spring Barrel and Wine Tasting tour is held in April of every year, and in 2010, will be held from April 23-25.

Yakima Farmers' Market

Now in its eleventh year, the Yakima Farmers' Market is a joy for visitors and locals alike. Complete with the rich agricultural bounty of the Yakima Valley, the market, open every Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. from May 9 through October 31 in 2010, features premier fresh produce, local crafts and specialty products.

From romantic red wine and chocolate tours in February and the bountiful Farmer's Market in March to April's Spring Barrel & Wine Tasting and September's Central Washington State Fair, there's always cause for celebration in the greater Yakima area.

Welcome Summer Open Cruising Event

When the warm weather eases its sunny side into the Yakima Valley, we like to kick the summer of with making official what generations of teens have been doing for years—cruising the main drag. Starting downtown, the Welcome Summer Open Cruising event makes this tradition safe and fun for everyone, and has become a major catalyst for the revitalization of downtown Yakima.

Red Wine & Chocolate Weekend

We've all heard that red wine and chocolate, taken in moderation, offer rich health benefits with their inherent antioxidants and ability to lower the risks of heart disease and other maladies. And of course, we all know that red wine and chocolate offer immediate palate satisfaction, especially when created with the artisan craft of the chocolatiers and wineries you'll visit while on this wonderful tour. Held in the Valentine month of February every year,  Yakima Valley's Red Wine & Chocolate tour is an ideal romantic retreat.

Yakima Hot Shots 3 on 3, June

Every June, the streets of downtown Yakima are transformed into a series of basketball courts, allowing kids, teens and adults in on the fun of health competition with fun and invigorating 3 on 3 games with other players of your age group and skill level. Between games at Yakima Hot Shots 3 on 3, take in the sites of downtown, including the Farmer's Market and all kinds of great attractions and diversions in the downtown area.

Central Washington State Fair

It really doesn't get any better than this. Organizers of this year's Central State Washington Fair invite you to "Get Happy," not a tall order for an event that's bringing joy to children of all ages for years. Scheduled for September 24 to October 3, 2010, the fair promises great food, animals, exhibits, displays, carnival rides and several stages featuring fantastic entertainment for the whole family.

Moxee Hop Fest

Well, the featured word "hop" might give away the central attraction of the t-Moxee Hop Fest, which is of course, beer. Additional good times include a 5K run/walk, parade, music, food vendors and the main attraction—the beer garden. The event will be held in Moxee Park from August 7 to 8, 2010.
